On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. EDT, NSBA’s Small Business Technology Council (SBTC) will host a webinar on “Making the Most of NIH SBIR/STTR Opportunities in 2026,” featuring Stephanie Fertig, Director of the National Institutes of Health's (NIH’s) Small Business Program. Ms. Fertig oversees the NIH's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, which help innovative small businesses develop and commercialize cutting-edge technologies.

Hosted by SBTC Executive Director Jere Glover, the webinar will provide an update on the NIH SBIR/STTR programs following their restart after the 6-month lapse in authorization. Ms. Fertig will discuss how the NIH is implementing the programs under the 2026 reauthorization, including changes to program administration and opportunities for participating companies. Attendees will also have opportunities to ask questions and share feedback regarding their experiences with the SBIR/STTR programs directly with the NIH.

This complimentary webinar is open to life sciences-focused small businesses currently or interested in participating in the SBIR/STTR programs. If you would like to attend, please register using the link below.
